ABOUT
Who built Innovatio, and out of what.
Innovatio is not an agency and not a layered consultancy. It is a method that became a product: thirty years of trade-offs, research and teaching, turned into workspaces your teams apply to their own decisions.

THE FOUNDER
Pascal Cottereau
Founder of inNOVAtio
Pascal Cottereau founded inNOVAtio in 2019 in Rambouillet, near Paris. His work covers strategy, studies, programmes, budgets and planning — the material the workspaces of the suite are made of.
LinkedIn profile ↗WHY INNOVATIO EXISTS
The founding conviction.
Poorly structured strategic decisions cost more than poor execution.
Innovatio was founded to close one specific gap: the distance between the strategy stated in the boardroom and the trade-offs actually made on the ground. Not reports read once, nor dashboards that measure the past, but a decision file that can be traced, revisited and defended.
- 01A decision without explicit assumptions cannot be revisited.
If the assumptions stay in people’s heads, no one can tell six months later which one turned out to be wrong. Every workspace in the suite makes them visible and dated.
- 02A budget without scenarios is not an allocation.
Without a comparison of costed scenarios, a budget is last year’s estimate carried forward. Comparison is the moment a trade-off becomes possible.
- 03Generating options, AI included, does not replace decision discipline.
Producing options has become easy; ranking them under constraint, against written criteria, has not. The final decision stays human.
THE PATH
Thirty years structuring decisions.
The suite did not start as a product idea. It comes from four successive trades — management systems, portfolio arbitration, corpus analysis, marketing leadership — each of which left a piece behind.
1993 – 2001
Understanding a company through its systemsDeploying management and customer relationship solutions in small and mid-sized companies. Analysing processes, responsibilities and how decisions actually travel inside an organisation.
2001 – 2003
Arbitrating portfoliosAdvising leadership teams facing sensitive trade-offs across their business portfolios: structuring the criteria, aligning resources with market priorities, and making the necessary sacrifices explicit.
2003 – 2004
Formalising innovationSpecialised master’s degree in technological innovation and project management (ITMP), ESIEE Paris.
2004 – 2010
Teaching how to read a controversyVisiting lecturer at ESIEE Paris on web mapping and scientific controversies: structuring a debate, clarifying positions, reading a situation as a system. Nexus comes directly from that work.
2005 – 2008
Analysing heterogeneous corporaDoctoral programme in information engineering at Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, carried out under a CIFRE agreement with CEA Tech and the software publisher AGUDEL: analysing large multilingual datasets — international patents, scientific publications — to identify emerging areas and systemic interdependencies. Part of that work was published by Wiley in 2013.
Since 2008
Running the marketing function from the outsideFounding partner of MP6, now Rankeoo. Outsourced marketing leadership for owners of small and mid-sized companies, in B2B as in B2C: market and competitive analysis, positioning and segmentation, structuring offers and value propositions, marketing plans, demand generation and performance measurement. This is where the method meets its real constraint — a finite budget, a small team, and a decision due on a date.
Since 2019
Turning a method into a productFounding inNOVAtio in Rambouillet, then building the workspaces of the suite — Atlas, Grid, Plot, Mix, Calc, Map, Pilot — and Nexus for the digital ecosystem.
HOW AN ENGAGEMENT STARTS
Scope is written before it is priced.
An engagement does not start from a catalogue of services, but from the decision itself: what has to be settled, what remains open, and which workspaces will settle it.
- A first thirty-minute conversation covers your real decision: what has to be settled, which questions remain open, which workspaces will earn their place.
- You then receive a written proposal, with no obligation, naming a scope and named deliverables.
- The file stays yours: export, handover and deletion terms are set in the contract.

Describe the decision, its deadline and what is blocking it. Thirty minutes are enough to find out whether Innovatio is the right tool — and to say so if it is not.
